Charlie’s strength lies in sales, marketing and operations. Having been involved in large projects in the power sector since 2007, he identified areas of need in the sector, and APC began acquiring stringing equipment from a Spanish company, Abengoa, on a long term lease basis. His focus shifted from solely supplying vehicles to supplying the entire project with equipment needed for the completion of power line projects. He supplied various local Power Line Projects with stringing equipment including Ferrum, Kusile, Massa Ngwedi A, B, C & D, as well as completing projects in Ethiopia, Malawi, Zambia and Mozambique. He is also responsible for the acquisition and maintenance of APC’s current projects in Botswana.

Doctor Malefahlo
Doctor started off with power company Optic 1 as an Administration Clerk, and then moved on to become involved in the procurement of equipment needed for the power line industry. He was also a Technical Manager for Stefanuti Stocks. He was involved in big projects i.e. Medupi, Komati Power Station, Gamma Kappa 765kv overhead line, Gamma Kappa 275kv overhead line, etc. to name but a few. He has a vast experience in the many stages of power line erection, from the ground clearing and foundations right up to the stringing of the power lines.
Frank Du Toit
Frank’s strength lies in procedures, systems and management. He managed complex projects i.e. Transnet NMMP Pipeline, Eskom Gamma Kappa Line, Avenge Mokolo pipeline, etc. for his previous company. His wealth of experience in the trucking, lifting and construction industry makes him a valuable asset to APC.
Ashley Hayden
With a background in media projects, Ashley’s investment in a very different field nonetheless relies on the same skills that brought her success in her previous area of employment. Careful budgeting, strict timelines and meticulous planning are the cornerstone of all operations, no matter in which arena they occur, and APC also relies on her experience in finance and contractual matters. Her keen focus on compliance and regulatory also finds her as a Board member of the Johannesburg City Theatres and the Joburg Ballet.
Tambaoga Mhande
Tamba joined APC in October 2019, and has proved extremely valuable to the company. Coupled with enormous dedication, he also brings his knowledge and experience from the mining sector, whilst he was at Implats and Anglo American. Tamba is our Systems Manager and ensures that all systems are followed, and procedures are adhered to. Tamba holds the APC brand in very high regard, and is always willing to take on any task, making him a true team player.
Stefan De Wet Louw
Stefan, as APC head mechanic, comes with a wealth of knowledge from both the powerline market and transport Stefan, having been at Transdeko for 5 years, and Babcock Ntuthuko Powerlines for 13 years. Stefan, started at Babcock as mechanic, and was promoted a year after to head mechanic, overseeing all vehicles, all moving machinery and stringing equipment.Stefan now proudly works for APC, his expertise ensuring the proper running condition of all APC equipment. Stefan, much like the rest of the team, assists both on-site, and in-house. Stefan is the appointed SHEQ representative, a level 2 first aider and a fire fighter.
Tarryn King
Tarryn is a recent recruit to APC, assisting with sales and marketing side within the company. She brings 15 years’ experience in the lifting industry, managing sales and accounts, dealing with various product offerings and providing solutions to many listed companies. She is also a qualified LTI, offering on-site and off-site inspections. Within the lifting industry, Tarryn had previously worked closely with APC, supplying these services, and accordingly, APC offered her the in-house position of sales and marketing.
Maria Mahlasela
Better known as Ria, Maria has been with APC since 2018, bringing her attention to detail when it comes to daily running of the administration. Ria is very conscious of maintaining a very high standard of work ethic, and uses her initiative from the outset. Previously in insurance sales for Smart Life Insurance, thereafter spreading her wings to Vaal Truck Inn as administrator, before joining APC as a valued member of the team.
Lucky Mashilone
Lucky started his career working underground at New Denmark Colliery, before joining Refraline Natal ASC in Secunda where his varied skills included maintenance and repair work on refractories, corrosion engineering solutions, lagging and cladding installation. Lucky joined APC in 2017, and his ability to embrace new environments ensured he quickly rose through the business, starting as the office driver, then as store manager. He now brings his enthusiasm, and dedication to the position of warehouse manager.
